Formbono (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Formbono website and application at formbono.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it. By using our Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your name.
• Forms you fill in: When you are signed in, the answers you type into a form can be saved to your account as a draft or a completed form so you can come back to them. Court forms can ask for sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, income, health information, details about children, or accounts of abuse. Whatever you enter is stored with your account.
• Autofill profiles: Names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and, for attorneys, bar numbers that you save to fill forms automatically.
• Your workspace: Matters, templates, bookmarks and saved searches that you create.
• Searches: The text you type into Formbono’s search.
• Billing information: When you subscribe to Formbono Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store your Stripe customer ID, your plan, and your subscription status.
• Send to Client: When you send a form to someone to complete, we store the recipient’s email address, any message you include, and the answers the recipient submits.
• Contact messages: When you contact us through our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message by email.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: The forms you open, fill, and download, and the features you use. When you are signed in, this is linked to your account.
• Error reports: When something goes wrong, the error message and the address of the page you were on, linked to your account if you are signed in.
• Log data: Our hosting provider automatically records information such as your IP address, browser type, and referring URLs when you access the Service.
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used. See Section 8.

Information stored only in your browser

• Recent searches: Your recent searches are kept in your browser so you can run them again. You can clear them from the search page.
• On-device drafts: If you turn them on, a partly filled form is kept in your browser for up to 24 hours. Some sensitive forms are never stored this way.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service, including search results
• Fill forms from the profiles and drafts you save
• Process your subscription and manage your account
• Send emails you trigger or need (share notifications, completion alerts, receipts, and account and trial notices)
• Respond to your support requests and inquiries
• Find and fix errors, and monitor for fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only as necessary to operate the Service:

• Supabase: Our database, authentication, and file storage provider. Your account data, form answers, profiles, and workspace are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy →
• Vercel: Hosts the Service. Every request to the Service, including your IP address, passes through Vercel. Vercel Privacy Policy →

• Resend: Our email provider. We share email addresses and the content of the emails we send, such as share notifications and receipts, so they can be delivered. Resend Privacy Policy →
• Anthropic: Formbono’s search uses Anthropic’s AI to suggest forms. The text you type into search is sent to Anthropic for this purpose, and for some searches Anthropic may search the web for court forms on our behalf. Please don’t include details in a search that you would not want shared this way, such as names, case numbers, or Social Security numbers. • Google: Google Analytics receives the pages you visit (including the search text in the address of a search page), your browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and a cookie identifier. Google Privacy Policy →
• Legal disclosure: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

No attorney-client privilege. Formbono is not a law firm. Information you give Formbono is not protected by attorney-client privilege, and we may be required to disclose it in response to a valid subpoena or court order.

4. Send to Client and Recipient Data

When you send a form to someone using Send to Client:

• The recipient’s email address is stored in our database and used to deliver the email inviting them to complete the form.
• The answers the recipient submits are stored in our database and made available only to you, the sender.
• Each link expires 30 days after it is sent, and you can revoke a link earlier. We keep the record of the send and the recipient’s answers until you delete your account.
• You are responsible for having a lawful basis for sending forms to recipients and collecting their information.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account information, form answers, profiles, and workspace for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete this information within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it for legal or billing purposes.

We keep search records, usage data, and error reports to improve and fix the Service. When you delete your account, these records are no longer connected to your email address or account details.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed credentials, and access controls on our database. Share links use long random tokens that cannot be guessed. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights (California Residents — CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to know: You may request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
• Right to correct: You may ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate.
• Right to opt out of sale: We do not sell personal information, so this right does not apply.
• Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

8. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to measure how the Service is used. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block Google Analytics through your browser’s settings or with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
